When Oopbuy sends an out-of-stock message
The published reply window concerns a notification about your order. Read the message, confirm the affected item and reply with your decision.
A listing error and an out-of-stock notification are different events. The help-centre instructions captured on 10 October 2026 describe what happens after Oopbuy passes a seller’s out-of-stock report to the buyer.
The rule, as published
If the seller informs that the item is out of stock, the shopping agent shall synchronize the info to the user. If the user doesn't reply within 72 hours, the shopping agent will take the initiative to cancel the order for the user.
Operator help centre, read 2026-10-10
The trigger is the agent’s notification to you about the seller’s stock report. It is not the date you saved the link or the moment a page stopped opening. The published default after 72 hours without your reply is cancellation; confirm the live instructions in your order.
| Element | What it actually is |
|---|---|
| What starts it | Oopbuy notifying you that the seller reported the item out of stock. Check the timestamp and deadline in the actual message. |
| Who is being timed | You |
| How long | 72 hours from being told |
| Default if you say nothing | The order is cancelled |
| Where the money goes | Your account balance, not your card |
Why the notice can arrive long after the order
The published standards set processing windows measured in hours, and then add a condition that quietly suspends them: if the user has special requirements to confirm with the seller, and the seller has not been online, the processing time is extended accordingly.
Seller communication can take time. If the order is unchanged, check its messages and contact support with the order number rather than assuming the reply window is already running.
Answering well inside the window
Decide what your fallback is before you order
Record an acceptable alternative, or say you want cancellation. Do not authorize a substitute whose specification or price you have not checked.
Watch the account rather than your inbox
Check the order page and any notification channels you enabled. Keep the message timestamp and answer through the channel Oopbuy requests.
Answer even when the answer is cancel
Reply clearly even if your choice is cancellation, and check the resulting order status and refund record.
Ask about the shop, not only the item
Sellers that are out of one variant often have the next size, and the agent is already speaking to them.
Points this raises
The window was missed
The published default is that the agent cancels the order on your behalf. The product payment returns to your account balance, and getting it back to the original payment method is a separate withdrawal request.
The page still shows the item as available
That changes nothing. The operator's position is that actual inventory is what the seller says after being contacted, and the page is not updated by that conversation.
Part of an order is out of stock
The out-of-stock handling applies to the item the seller reported on. The rest of the order follows its own course, which is why answering quickly matters more when you were planning to consolidate.
